Standing on the side of freedom is not a symbolic gesture: it is a historic responsibility.
For forty-six years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has trampled every principle of human dignity. It rules through terror, relies on systematic repression, and mercilessly crushes any aspiration for freedom. Since 1979, generations of Iranians have paid with imprisonment, torture, and death for the simple dream of a different future. But it was with the killing of Mahsa Amini in 2022 that history itself cried out irreversibly: Woman, Life, Freedom. A cry for emancipation that echoed around the world, but was brutally crushed in Iran.
Any diplomatic engagement that takes place without transparency, without an explicit condemnation of the atrocities committed, and above all, without the inclusion of civil society and the democratic Iranian opposition, represents a betrayal—not of politics, but of humanity itself.
The Iranian regime today is more fragile and isolated than ever. It lacks internal legitimacy and economic means of survival, clinging solely to violence and shadowy deals with destabilizing forces in the region. Offering it a diplomatic platform is tantamount to prolonging its life. To legitimizing it. To betraying not only the Iranian people, but also the founding values of our own Republic.
Have the courage to stand on the right side of history!
